These gloves though...my grandmother made them at some point, maybe within the last 15 years or so because they are in good shape. My mom sent them to me hoping they would fit because they didn't fit her. Finally have some time again to dink around with things! . The little bits of thread all over are tailors tacks, they're for marking reference points. It's my first time trying them out and they're really annoying and I felt like the before clip in an infomercial for some wonder pattern marking product. "there's gotta be a better way!" little sticker dots maybe? Next time... . The fabric is some kinda technical fleece lined jersey, it was unlabeled when I got it years ago. Jumping into Thriftshop week for @madebyliesl's #REFEBULOUS. I accidentally bought this tunic sweater a whole bunch of years ago. Accidentally because I thought it was regular length. It had these weird fake pocket strips on the front. I chopped off the bottom above the strips and used that portion to make #V8311 gloves, which pattern apparently thinks that one extremely long finger size fits all. This is the weekend I get them to fit! Then I have to figure out how to finish the sweater hem using what I have. Would an ivory crochet cotton border be too twee? #sewing #sewcialists #TorontoSews

My #makenine2018 results. Swipe to see the actual items -- I'd say clothes, but since one of them is a set of sofa cushions... I finally made the @sewaholic #renfrewtop in black and brown merino from @wearethefabricstore. The brown was supposed to be a Jenna cardi, but I thought it was too thin for that. Sofa cushion covers thanks to @fabriclandontario and @_theworkroom. I did not make the Muse Natalie top, and I wound up giving that fabric away. I haven't even cut out the fabric for the Ginger jeans, but I realized the #jalie2908 I made at the very beginning of this year with the same denim from @kingtextiles should count for something (since it didn't count for my 2017 make nine). I made the #V8311 gloves from from the bottom of an overly-long tunic sweater, but they are still rather big, so they are #unfinishedbutwearable. The white cotton #B5526 from King Textiles was supposed to have sisters, but they'll get made this year. Same for the @_measuretwice #Maryboyshorts.
