I finished my Vintage Vogue Scott Barrie dress just a few days too late for the official #bhmpatterndesigners challenge.
.
But I’m still tagging it, so you can see what a fabulous designer he was ❤️.
.
Many of his creations for Vogue Patterns were designed for beautiful drapey knits, including this dress.
.
It looks deceivingly simple, but there are little details on the dress that I haven’t found on other similar designs.
.
If I were sewing this in 1979, when the pattern was released, I probably would have used a Qiana knit, which was a silky nylon knit. It draped beautifully, but I do remember that it ran if you were not careful with your sewing.
.
I even had a vintage Vogue American Designer Original label in my stash that I added to the back of the dress.
.
Dress: Made by me
Pattern: Vintage Vogue 2058
Fabric: Rayon Knit
.
I have collected a number of his patterns over the years, and this challenge finally gave me the push I needed to sew at least one of them!
.
Swipe to see the label, and the pattern cover.
.
Have you someone any of the Vintage Vogue Scott Barrie designs?
