I soft launched this 2 weeks ago, but here is my fancy pirate costume! 🏴‍☠️ It took maybe 10-13 hours to cut out and sew together. I had a ton of fun sewing this, mostly because I got to cut corners since it’s just a costume 😂 I’d been feeling really burnt out on sewing, but this was the perfect antidote. The pattern was straightforward and I didn’t have much issue with it. I did goof up by using a knit fabric for the contrast. That definitely made it harder to work with. I have some gorgeous satin fabric ready for this one. 5. The #bellbirdbuttonup from @common_stitch in a neutral linen - I’m waiting till I can go back into fabric shops to get this one! 5. The #zadiejumpsuit from @paper_theory in a tencel twill from @merchantandmills which I am soo excited about 6. The #tatjanatrousers from @just_patterns in the same suiting fabric as the Richmond blazer for a (🤞) beautiful suit 7. The #s8769 in a dark grey wool from Goldhawk Road that @mebeeeg helped me decide on (if only she could always come fabric shopping with me to help me with my awful indecisiveness) 9. A self drafted dress based on a mix of @ganni dresses in not 1 but 3 seersucker fabrics!! - I’m gunna crack this self-drafting malarkey with my new trusty dress form ❤️ This was hard to narrow down and I decided not to include #breakingthepattern or @tillybuttons patterns from the book as I would end up with triple the number here. Also I’ll inevitably remake some of my fave patterns I already have so didn’t include them!

Ready for Halloween! Steampunk plague doctor. This is Simplicity #s8769 in black satin-back taffeta. This isn't a quick sew (24 pieces!) but the results are worth it. Pattern from @simplicity_creative_group Fabric, buttons, and gimp braid from @club_tissus The fabric is deadstock.

So unfortunately...the 3d printed shield is dead. It melted in the sun and ill be using my Cap shield from Target. I don't mind a ton, as the Cap shield is tough and takes a beating. Waspie corset is almost done, just grommets and bias tape to sew on. Pants are done too, but no photo yet.
