never met a polka dot i didn’t like 🔴⚪️🔴 meet the Alexandra Circle Skirt (@dittopatterns) and #S9974! ill chat more about the ditto when i use it for a pattern more complex than a circle skirt, but for this application it was 100% a success 📽️ what you’re really here for is the corset top, right? i made the #S9974 in May at a corset retreat with @mmadalynne 👙 if you can make it to Philly for one of her workshops, i highly recommend the experience! it was such a joy to spend a whole weekend with likeminded sewists sizing: as per usual, the Simplicity sizing is nonsense and genuinely i would never have figured out a fit this perfect without Maddie’s help 📐 I used a 10 for the 4 front panels, 12 for the next two side panels, 14 for the back panels & added a self-drafted extra back panel a couple of inches wide (in order to have another seam to add supportive boning), which ill make a bit smaller in future versions so I have a more dramatic lacing gap in the back 💝 my advice? Fit your bust and wing the panels of the sides and back to fit the circumference of your torso ⭕️ for reference, the size chart puts me at a 20. . . . pattern: #s9974 by @mmadalynne and @simplicity_creative_group size: lol see above adjustments: raised the hip to sit above my hipbones, lowered the center front both at the bust and over the stomach, omnited the straps which was only possible because it fits SO WELL I didn’t need them. fabric: sourced from @mmadalynne but what is most important is a base layer of corset coutil for strength! saved money in Philly staying at a budget Airbnb: spent it all on lingerie kits instead . . . #simplicity9974 #simplicitypatterns #corsetsewing #lingeriesewing #makinglingerie #stillsewingstories #midsizesewing #midsizesewist #sewmillennial @madalynne_instalingerie
