Fuschia 100% linen culottes to replace the blue linen pants I got from Banana Republic Factory that no longer fit me—swipe to see see me enjoying the pants and lemon gelato in Italy last summer. They’re super comfy with an elastic waistband, plenty of swish, and inseam pockets. I grabbed #s9956 because it was on sale, available at @joann_stores a few weeks ago, and had the shape I wanted. It made my life a little harder than necessary because it has an entirely additional pattern piece for front and back designed for a contrasting fabric/pattern orientation. I made it all in one color, just added some extra sewing and fiddling.

Mods: had to take multiple inches off of the elastic for waistband to fit and didn’t include twill tape for a faux-drawstring bow. In future would use one larger piece of elastic (1.5/2”) instead of three tiny ones.
Level: beginner-friendly, but there are definitely easier versions of this out there without the extra pattern pieces for contrasting fabric for a true beginner looking for a simple pair of pants
