Quick and satisfying weekend sewing project. I love being in the studio on these long holiday weekends. Used V9193 pant + our Frida embroidered rayon. I modified the pattern length to used the embroidered border at the hem, and straightened out the seams a bit to accomodate the embroidery. (HINT: to do this, I made a fresh copy of the pattern which takes a bit of time but is so worth the effort). Bonus, the weight of the embroidery adds to the drape in a good way. Love these and will take them to NY in a couple of weeks. Finally some bright sunlight to help me photograph my new asymmetrical tunic #vogue9193 #marcytiltonpattern in #naniiro linen/cotton fabric from my Japan trip. The fabric is from a collection a few years ago, with only 2 pre-cut 2m lots left, which I happily snaffled. It's a bit hard to see, but there's an in-seam pocket on the front. This is a Marcy Tilton for Vogue pant, #V9193. I took about 1.5" out of the inseam from the hem, tapering to the crotch, and they still have a very easy, relaxed fit. Love the front pocket incorporated into the yoke. #marcytilton #voguepatterns

Perfect in cool or warm weather ☀️❄ Secret smile for the pattern matching of the pocket (pic::lower right). 🤭 Found a new combo, with mustard pants (RTW). That's what this month is all about. Montey, our mutt, can't keep away in the evening - helps my teen photographer get in the mood! Reckon the rosehip is helping his 10yo hips 🐕

Me Made May Day 16: I made this Marcy Tilton #vogue9193 tunic 2 years ago and loved it, but I think I’ve only worn it once since. I never knew how to style it, and the linen felt a bit stiff, so in the spirit of Me Made May, I am giving it an airing and experimenting with an ensemble. I think I’ll run in the lower asymmetrical part as I don’t like how it flares out. The stunning fabric is a Nani Iro 2 metre pre-cut linen remnant I picked up crazy cheap in Nippori a few years back. It was from a collection a few years earlier at that point, so I snapped it up. (I just checked my original post and realised I have another 2m left somewhere in my stash-happy days!)
