Vogue 1936 blazer dress with cut out. Had to make this after trying on a similar outfit in a high street shop. Difference is this fits and is in a colour I love! I used a linen blend, top stitched both sides of seams and finished the unlined skirt with Hong Kong seams. I made my own shoulder pads with wadding which has a better look than premade pads. Some details of my last dress, the vogue #v1936. As I said, I didn't exactly follow the pattern instructions (as always). I left out the sleeves and added a zipper into the skirt instead of the hidden button placket. Much easier 🙊 and not visible at all. The lining deserves to be seen as well. It's a lovely sort of poly(?) satin. The outer fabric is cotton, which will also be comfortable in summer! ☀️

This pattern (Vogue V1936) was love at first sight. It has a classic vintage shape, but with a fun back. Only when it arrived I realized it was actually an advanced pattern and also that I had ordered the wrong size range 🤷 but I had a mission and got started anyway. I don't think I ever before had to puzzle together this many pattern pieces, and I'm kinda surprised that it all worked out somehow. Although florals are great for hiding (or 'verbloemen') little mistakes 🙊 I'm really happy with this one and it was finished just in time to wear it to a wedding party! 🥳 #vogue1936 #v1936
