Notes to self: #n6769 view “A” minus faux pocket flaps. Fabric: organic linen/cotton blue/white yarn dyed lt. weight chambray- wrinkled, too hot to iron. Pocket linings - very lt. weight white cotton. Size 12: Shortened at all patterns available “petite” marked locations. Much better starting point re. crotch curve than the previous attempted/aborted pattern. Can walk, sit, bend - no funny business going on with crotch curve. Final fabric version fits more loosely than the tissue fit version. Created a guard for zipper, pattern didn’t include one- create a better one next time. I.F. on the Inside of waistband helps with sewing snap closure, didn’t like non-I.F. facing on exterior of band. Lone button glued to random metal disk. Two different threads (blue/white) for button hole - unnecessary. Pants legs are wider & have a finished length outside my norm - seems OK ATM. Embellishments: selvedges sewn along bottom edge of waistband, down both side seams along front edge pf pockets & two rows for each leg hem by machine after using temporary glue to help position. Frayed bottom hems.Hand sewed silver lined glass bugle & metal seed beads to the selvedges- the glue wasn’t helpful here. Style and fit are subjective - remember Why and for Whom you are sewing. Lots of struggles, definitely questioned the process. Wearable & the embellishments make the pants.

Ankara Appreciation Week hosted by @julietuzor_ and @thatlenaking was motivation to sew up some Ankara. Jumping in with my annual make. I love Ankara but the pattern matching can be a deterrent.
