추석 명절 맞이 와인. Niepoort와 Telmo Rodriguez 합작 와인이다. Niepoort 와인은 그냥 믿고 마시는 편인데, 그들이 뗄모와 함께 만들었다니 마시지않을 이유가 없었다. 처음에 코를 갖다대면 검은 과실향이 먼저 올라오지만 어디선가 체리가 "나 여기 있어요"라고 속삭이는 소리가 들리는 듯하다. 나중엔 오히려 처음부터 붉은 과실이었나 싶어졌네. 더불어 막 비가 그친 뒤 산에 들어섰을 때의 냄새. 어쩐지 향만으로도 기분이 좋아진다. 그나저나 왜 이름을 OmLet이라 지었는지 궁금하네. @niepoortwines , if you ever come across this, I am curious about the story behind your wine project's name OmLet. So here is my latest make in one  of my ever increasing  favourite designs from the @minervadotcom exclusive range 'boudoir bouquet’  . It is one of the latest base cloths, silky satin charmeuse. It has a beautiful floaty drape and feels so lovely and soft to the touch.   I wanted to make this pattern since it was released as it has a very 1930s feel to me, mainly I think as its cut on the bias as many designs were in that era. . Its vogue 2008 by  designers Tom and Linda Platt and is close fitting and fully lined with a collar which has ties at the back. The suggested fabrics are Charmeuse, Crepe de chine , Georgette and Hammered satin so there are a lot of the new Minerva exclusive base cloths to choose from. #v2008 I think my Dad managed to take this photo of me with my mouth open, mid-sentence. Back to 1980 and another formal. My date for the night was a handsome year 12 student who smelt like lemon scented shaving cream. It wasn't a romance. He was much too invested in Carlton FC, Daicos* and God. Thanks to the wonders of Google, I can report that he is a practicing physiotherapist. This dress had more pintucks than any other dress I have made. I'm questioning my life choices - why did I buy expensive patterns and cheap fabric? Delightfully impressed w’ this @tyrrellswines 2008 Canberra Shiraz. This wine was as a result of the poor #v2008 in the #huntervalley The fruit was sourced from @bartonestate just outside of Canberra in #murrumbateman The wine looks good though the primary fruit has all but disappeared w’ secondary & tertiary notes coming through. Acidity & tannins are still good w’ a little spice, pepper, forest floor, vanilla. It’s a nice mouthful but lacks the length. A big boy this one, brooding, a little jammy and savoury, still opening up. Jammy ripe black plum all over the mid palate ready to settle and saturate. It finishes big, ripe and deep. It's a fantastic wine. The Langhorne Shiraz element unmistakenly binds and pushes the blend to a higher plane. 🍷🍷🍷🍷 This is an outstanding wine.

호주 양고기엔 호주 와인이라며 셀러 뒤지는 데 지금 마실 수 있는 와인 중엔 요고 뿐. 이탈리아 토착 품종인 #사그란티노 를 호주에서 재배했다 해서 좀 신기한 와인으로 알려졌지만. 사실 난 책으로만 습득했을 뿐 이태리산 사그란티노를 마셔본 기억이 없다. 공부할 때 한 번쯤 마셔봤을 것 같긴 하지만... 😅 이 와인을 샀던 또 다른 이유는 생산자가 내가 엄청 좋아했던 #cafedecabernet 를 만든 #andrewpeace 라는 사실 때문이었다.
