I honestly don't know what possessed me to buy this pattern. It's awful. The rise is too low. The pleats stick out unless you hoik the crotch down significantly, and the panels above the pleats are absolutely pointless (as well as impossible to attach neatly). The pockets are so low on the hip that only an orangutan could benefit from them. Redeeming features - the wide leg is exaggerated and dramatic. 8 pleats! If you have this pattern, I'd strongly advise omitting the panel and just starting the pleats directly under the waistband; then just sew them down a couple of inches. Oh and consider lengthening the rise/crotch... Just found these little shorts at the back of my wardrobe, where I chucked them last summer after declaring this sew as an absolute fail. Well, they seem to be just about fine this summer. I really liked the style of this pattern - flared out and with pleats, a bit more dressier pair of shorts than your usual everyday. Iβm not sure if they donβt fit me quite right or is there a pattern design fault but they go in my bum-bum a lot and itβs terribly annoying. I might give this pattern another go as I still like the concept. 𧡠pattern is Simplicity 9955 #simplicity9955 𧡠size 10 / European 36 𧡠fabric is soft, stone washed linen from Higgs and Higgs that I bought about 12 years ago and made some cushions. This was just a small leftover piece and Iβm so relieved itβs finally gone from my fabric draw! Anyone else brings their scrap fabric with them moving numerous houses, counties etc?
