There are so many sweet details about this dress that I love. Nothing over the top but just interesting and beautiful and I think that makes it a wonderful dress for everyday. The little gathers around the neck, the binding and tie around the neckline to tie into a little bow, and the lace on the circular pockets. I've never done circular pockets before but they might be a new feature now instead of seam pockets. This is my version of Vintage Vogue 9294. I made view A but took out the parts that did not suit me. I’ve included a picture of step 24 where the neck facing and ties are attached. That bit was difficult to understand. A big thank you to @lizvonvillas for making a utube video of her making this pattern. I love this photo but I don’t think the juice was worth the squeeze. I trekked out to the middle of our local botanical garden, carrying my camera equipment and pouring sweat. I had an umbrella, which helped, but I got heat exhaustion afterward anyway. A migraine and ...🤢. I don’t know how people work outside in the summer. I have the utmost respect for anyone who does. Don’t forget to put your health first, in all areas of your life! And stay hydrated!💧 ******* Despite me being a dumb dumb and getting overheated, this dress is so amazingly comfortable because it’s so lightweight and breathable. I sewed it using #v9294 and a silk/cotton blend from @minervadotcom. Highly recommend both pattern and fabric!

It may be the last day of the month, but at least I made it for @minervadotcom ‘s September #SewnWithVogueChallenge ! 🥳 I used Vintage Vogue 9294 which is a reproduction of a 1939 design, and I just LOVE how it turned out! So many sweet details with this one. We decided to shoot these photos in Strasburg, PA to get that quintessential old small town America charm, and I think we nailed it. I made this dress yesterday (and into early this morning). It is #vogue9294, a reproduction of a 1939 pattern. I made my dress in view A, because I thought the trim/pockets were an adorable detail. The sleeves each had 4(!) darts and a pleat. Overall I'm happy with the results, though it involved several breakdowns and lots of tears. This vintage 1939 summer dress is officially complete! I used v9294 in the size 14, although it ended up being too big. I went by bust measurements, but the whole pattern seems to run large so I had to make quite a few adjustments along the way. I'll definitely cut a size 12 next time!
