Hello all, my first make for #thelittlereddressproject22 hosted by @thetwilightstitcher and @creativiteebyt is complete. I used #v1835 view b and the fabric is from @girlcharlee . I may have made the top a little bigger then I envisioned 🤣😂 but it worked out. I layered a turtleneck under and it kept me warmer in the cold. For those that have made this top did you have to shorten the sleeve on the drop shoulder side? Both sleeve were cut the same but the drop shoulder side one now is to long 🤷🏻‍♀️. Still going to wear it, in fact this was the second day using it. #V1835 - this outfit was made early May. I haven't blogged the deets yet, but hope to soon. I lengthen the pants and added eyelets instead of buttonholes for the drawstring. On the top, I wanted a little ruching on the side. So I added a piece of elastic to create the desired affect. The neckline was also widen a bit to improve the fit and drape. I love to sew… this gives me so much happiness, motivation and enjoyment I can’t explain it. Last night after I finished all my orders and closed door after my last client and wrap my kids up to their beds I did treat myself with a glass of wine, Netflix movie and cut in and sewed up a new set… a Mimi G Style Simpliciy 8927 skirt pattern and a Vogue 1835 Lounge Sweater… and I love this look !!! For skirt I have used scuba knit in Rose Tan color from @fabricmart . Instead of putting a buttons I placed a metal snaps in a rows od two. Honestly I did not like to straight look of the skirt on me, so I did temper from the bottom line to achieve a pencil look skirt. I am truly happy with a final look of the skirt!!! As for the sweater… oh my ☺️ this lovely, rich and fluffy knit from @joann_stores is perfect. Not to mention color scheme is 👌. It was a great and satisfying sewing night… and now happy to share it with you ☺️. Glad the sew your view this month is one I can do in my sleep!!! This is the 12th time I am making Vogue 1835. I have given 4 away, done a sleeveless, hacked to a dress, pajama top, 4 different size tops same fabric but different colors and now this one!!! I may have fabric to hack another dress. My notes on the envelope are alterations I have made different times I made the pattern and who I made it for if I give it away. This has come in super handy as a reference since it is a staple for me. To say I love this pattern is an understatement!!! Hey sewing friends! Pajamas, anyone? I’m in desperate need! I first saw this pattern, #V1835. When Talisha from @creativiteebyt made it and I think a lot of other folks on @sewyourview, I knew I had to purchase this pattern. I like the easy (and very quick) style of the pattern. Now, when I was gifted two very nice pieces of fabric from Gaylen @gmariesews, (Thank you! 🤗😘) I knew I was going to use them with this pattern. Since I don’t know what the actual contents of the Fabrics are, l’ll be guessing..the first one which has a black background with white birdies, is a rayon jersey knit. This is so lightweight and super stretchy, it is extremely easy to sleep in and very comfortable as loungewear! (It’s so HARD to get me out of this when I’m at home relaxing!) So I immediately made the second pair of pajamas using the next fabric, which is a multicolored print and I believe it is a double brush poly that also is lightweight and has a lot of stretch. Both are being worn as pajamas and I love them! So you can essentially take a pattern that’s made particularly for outerwear and make it pajamas! Tell me if you would do that too! I plan on making another pair very soon! Three wonderfully different customer projects, all sewn with our 'limeade graffiti' soft bamboo/cotton French terry! @mcwethy.makes sewed up her @sewhouse7 #toastersweater turtleneck as her last make of 2021! She had made the pattern before and prefers this second version, commenting that this fabric had a nice drape that complimented the raglan sleeves and overall fit. @siouxzeegirl had so much fun sewing up this mini collection over the weekend including 2 tops, a hoodie and joggers. Her tops are made with a coordinating limeade Oeko-Tex viscose/spandex (fabric #79867) with the @jsterndesigns easy fit and sew tank pattern and a self-drafted boatneck design. @whatkathrynsews says, "This new lounge set is like a big, soft squishy hug!". She used patterns #m7331 for the bottoms and #v1835 for the top. After several versions of #m7331 made over the years, she finally has the pattern adjusted to fit her perfectly. For the top pattern, she warns that it is not actually an asymmetrical neckline to be worn off the shoulder as they show in the cover photo, though she loves it anyway!
