Corduroy is one of my favourite types of material. It's so versatile and easy to sew with, no slipping, but aesthetically, you can play with shades by manipulating the pile, and it just offers a different perspective to the garment. I altered the pile of the back outside pant and the hem pieces. ☺️ @mimigstyle @simplicity_creative_group pattern number #s9754 View C is such a cool pattern, if you were clubbing during the 80s or 90s you will definitely understand this drop crotch "It's Hammer Time" pant. It's comfy, interesting to look at, and to sew. I'd say this is for the intermediate sewer. Instead of buttons I applied snaps, and instead of folding under the waist band hem, I sewed in bias binding. Also, I decided to exclude the back pocket flaps. They are just not my style. This georgeous green corduroy fabric is from @fabricland.canada it's so soft and it has a this really neat kind of pile pattern to it. #fabriclandlove. These pants are warm, I put it on for the pics but maaan I was sweating 😆 Yeah I'm not sewing anymore warm stuff until it gets cold because it's too hot to sew with warm materials right now. 😅 Okay🧵🪡💃🏿 What's next? #s9754 It's so important to use the correct fabric with a pattern. This make was difficult for me, I don't think I used the right material, but I'm stubborn, so perseverance won. 👊🏿 What happened was... I dug around my scrap bin and pulled out this stretchy black spandex and some bits of very stretchy velour, and I thought ... yeah, man, this is good enough. 🤣😂 It was not. It was too stretchy, and it sort of ballooned. Hence, I had to put a bit of elastic in the neck and part of the armholes. Of course, I ran out of ball point needles, and I can't just waltz over to the fabric store, the closest one is 2.5 hours away, so I used my serger mostly, but for top stitching, skipped stitches plagued this make. 🫣 Having said all that, the top is cute and I'm going to wear it, but yeah, I will definitely have to make it again with the correct fabric and proper needles. 👀🤷🏿‍♀️ What's next?
