This pattern includes a lined jacket with side panel and darts that is double breasted with peaked lapel and pocket details. The pleated pants and shorts have front slashed pockets and back patch pockets.

Finally took photos of the first Heather Blazer I made. I’ve worn this a fair bit, it’s a good basic and came with me overseas for judging as it is quite smart. The pants I haven’t worn so much, they are Simplicity 9381 which I shared back in July as they were a bit of fail. I’ve since unpicked and taken out the second pleat and taken about 4” out of the upper leg volume. They are much less poofy now so I’m fairly happy with them, I just haven’t had too much opportunity to wear them. Both the jacket and pants are made in a lovely Japanese technical fabric from The Fabric Store. It has a slight stretch, is silky soft but also takes an iron. Despite being poly the fabric is lovely, the Japanese really know how to make fabric. I’ve lined the jacket with cute kitty lining bought at ClearIt in Melbourne, sadly now closed. Sewing Plans! Here are the next 3 sewing projects (*disclaimer: I reserve the right to change at any time) ✨✨1. Simplicity 9376 - tailored pant with a flat front and elastic waist at the back. With pockets!! I love comfy tailored pants for work wear. This pattern comes with several variations, and they all have pockets which is awesome! I am making them out of a menswear inspired knit from @fabriclandontario (in the background) in black white and a very French blue. ✨✨2. Inspired by several IG sewists @secondroomsewing @juliabobbin who do amazing tailoring, I am attempting a balmain style blazer (see inspiration picture). I purchased several lengths of high end suiting yardage a few years ago from a friend who had a tailor shop closing down, I will check through my stash for something suitable. A tailoring book is on order from Amazon to help me with it. This project well require lots of time & some muslins, and I will probably work on it in between some other projects. Or I might just get into it, who knows! ✨✨3. I just love Olivia Pope’s style on Scandal. Project number three is to create a coat with a big collar. I have a couple lengths of coating to audition for this! ✨✨All patterns are from @patternreview - Sadly, Simplicity patterns have not distributed in Canada for about 10 years now & borders closed meant no shopping to @joann_stores (soon, though!) I made these shorts. And they’re not perfect. But I’m still going to keep wearing them and living my life. 🤣 I used @mimigstyle pattern #S9381 for a really tailored and sophisticated look. And I paired it with a RTW button down and some really high heels that my ankles are no longer used to. 😂🥹 The style of these shorts are so classic and timeless that I thought it would be a huge gamble and jolt to my wardrobe to match them up with this fabric from @moodfabrics …how did I do?
