It’s Sagittarius Season y’all, so I have some extra energy! I posted a gorgeous wool/mohair earlier this month that I said I was going to use for this month’s make. I loved the style of this coat as soon as Mimi G released it. But I’m hippie (not a hip but I have curvy hips) and I wasn’t sure how the cocoon shaping would fit my body type. So I got nervous about cutting in to that luxurious fabric when I was unsure so I pulled this cotton flannel as a test run. I’m glad I did because this is like wearing a blanket! It’s in the 20s here and I’ll be snugging up with this on in front of the fire tonight while watching tv or knitting. This also fits in to my red capsule collection I’m working on so there’s that. The red knit I used for the sleeves has been used to make several items in the collection. I’m excited to model it all once it’s completed! I might also remove the pockets. I feel like they accentuate that width at the hip and it’s not flattering on me. I won’t use the pockets anyway. And I opted not to do the tab at the back and button closure. I might make a belt for when I wear it outside. It’s too cold out for this to be a winter jacket. But it will be good in Spring and Fall, especially as a car coat. Now to decide if I will make another with that gorgeous wool/mohair fabric. I will think on it and decide before starting my black capsule collection. I might do a mash up with another jacket-I love the sleeve design on this coat, but I might want a jacket body that is suitable for a fabric with a bit of drape.
