Hope you had a good weekend! Saturday marked one year since we brought Scrabble home, which was a fun thing to celebrate, and Sunday we went to a baseball game. Honestly, that made me much more anxious than I was anticipating once we got there. And that’s okay! Lesson learned that that pushed my boundaries farther than I’m comfortable with right now, and I’m going to avoid events like that for a while longer. Even being 💉 and outside, it didn’t feel quite right for me at this point.
Finished up (well, mostly) this dress this morning, made from a vintage Simplicity pattern (#s9930). I kind of free-wheeled it after cutting the bodice- I wanted a maxi length, and drafted some patch pocket that I’m still fussing with the placement on. One of my favorite things about simple patterns like this is the ability to really easily make them your own with just a few tweaks.
The dress is a little too long so I’m going to go back and shorten it a bit, and also maybe take in the bodice side seams since the arm holes are preeeetty deep.
Also hopping onto the #howdoyouhue prompts from @moosoutfits and @arcanedomestic; I’m going to be wearing some form of orange all week.
ID: Maggie, a white woman with short brown hair, stands in front of an exterior wall. She is wearing green sunglasses, a burnt orange fanny pack, a yellow and white gingham dress, and black block heeled sandals.
