I completed this very cool, 80s inspired jumpsuit after seeing the amazing version by @hollydollydarling. I shamelessly copied her tweaks, replacing the buttons with a zipper - so much easier for bathroom breaks - and added cuffs to the sleeves as well as making a matching belt to cinch in the waist as #me2081 is a maternity jumpsuit. My brilliant sewing teacher Ana from @thesewingworkshop_brisbane guided me through my first collar with a stand, as well the zip insertion and other changes. So thrilled with how this jumpsuit turned out. I have had my eye on this fabric for ages from @lushfabricsaustralia, and what better time to make a new fit than for a Lush get together. Can’t wait to wear this again as it is so comfortable. I’ve decided that I will now hack all button front jumpsuits and rompers to have zipper fronts. The ease of getting in and out 🤯. I’m converted. I made a shorts version of #me2081 over the summer, and have been wanting to make a full length version. Other than swapping out the button placket for a zipper, I also finished the sleeve hems with bands. I love my jumpsuits loose and oversized, which is why I love this pattern so much. It also looks cute belted at the waist, though! Fabric is a stretch cotton twill from @moodfabrics . The border print runs parallel to the grain, so in order to use it in the way I did, the pattern had to be cut on the cross grain. For a full length jumpsuit with no waist seam, this was cutting it reeeeeeal close.
