This jumpsuit is the amalgamation of the bodice from #v9075 and the bottoms from #m7632. The fabric is rosella stretch viscose from @lamazifabrics . I think the fabric worked well with the patterns due to its weight (180gsm) and elastane content. The trousers aren't greatly structured but the fabric allows for the sense of wearing secret pyjamas. I would like to make the same combination in a stretch cotton sateen for a more structured look. Pattern modification minus 1" from bodice length and contouring of all princess seams to cinch in at the waist (end result minus 2" from natural waist). I cut a size 10 in the bodice and size 8 in the trousers. #mccalls7632 #vogue9075 #n6777 @simplicitymccallsuk

This is #n6777 and #v9075. The difference between the two is that the latter can be cut to a size 6. I cut a size 10 in B and contoured the princess seams to get the right fit. I love how this pattern has turned out and I have plans to make more. I think it’s going to be my current new favourite pattern. - - - #newlookpatterns #voguepatterns #big5patterns #sewover40 #sewover40Jan25 #sewnwithbig5feb #sewnwithbig5 #vogue9075 #newlook6777 @simplicitymccallsuk

🟣 I Rock…a Lot of Jumpsuits 🟡 I find 3m (or higher) fabric cuts to be overwhelming. Give me 2m and I can make a lot of things work. I’m not sure if it’s the idea of having anything leftover or having to cut out a lot of pieces but it means I tend to sit on the larger lengths in my stash for ages. Like this I Rock a Lot of Polka Dots in the original mint colourway. But sometimes waiting is necessary for the right pattern to enter the conversation. And this #newlookpatterns was definitely worth waiting for! I made some minor modifications (below) to get the right fit for me but otherwise the only real change was to swap out the sleeves and add this striped orange ribbon to break up the pattern and add some visual interest #trimsforeverything The bodice is fully lined which I like to sew first (out of step with instructions) so I can get the fit right before sewing up the main fabric and avoid a toile! This pattern is a smooth sew and once you’re done with the princess seams those super wide legs sew up real quick because pleats come together a heck of a lot quicker than gathers do! The pattern calls for 2.7m. I used a more fabric hungry sleeve piece but still managed to squeeze this out of 2.75m. With pattern pieces this big it’s hard to Tetris your way out of less.. Modifications: 🪡 Shortened bodice by 2” 🪡 Increased rise by 3” 🪡 Lazy straight shoulder adjustment grading from 16 at neck to 18 at sleeve 🪡 Graded from 16 at bust to 18 at the waist. Note that I had to increase the SA to 2cm across the princess seams. Next time will size down 🪡 Swapped out the standard sleeve for the puffy, pleated, cuffed #scoutdress sleeve from #charmpatterns Pattern: #n6777 by @simplicitymccallsaustralia using sleeves from the #scoutdress by @gertie18 Size: 16-18 but final result 14-16 Fabric: I Rock a Lot of Polka Dots in cotton by @whimsykaleidoscope #sewing #isew #colorfulwardrobe #imakemyclothes #diystyle #memade #makeyourownfashion #sewist #whimsyfabrics #whimsyfabric #memademay #memademay2025 #irockalotofpolkadots

I have lofty goals for my second garment. I want to sew the skirt in the middle pattern (#ME2073) It has a side zipper but I want to move the side zipper to the back and add pockets to the skirt. The pockets will come from the first pattern (#N6777). Then I’ll sew a matching top to my skirt using the crop top pattern on the right (#ME2033). Oh and I have to modify the skirt size because the pattern doesn’t go up to my measurements. This will be my first time doing all of these things and the accountant in me is so excited about figuring all of these modifications out. #nasewebe #cpa
