New low rise wide cut jeans with matching vest (it's reversible!) The jeans are McCalls @mccallpatterncompany #M8408. The pattern is mid-rise but it has a very short seat so I adjusted the waist band. The legs are very long- I added a few inches to the hem but then turned them up again. The vest top was drafted from the #charmpatterns #picnictop. I took off the button stand at the centre front, then made two and sewed them together to make it reversible. #memade #sewing

At the start of the year, I asked my YouTube subscribers to help me choose my first sewing project of 2025. They voted for a trendy two-piece coord, and I initially planned to make a vest and dress pants. But in the excitement of getting started, that simple set evolved into a five-piece collection—an assortment of garments designed to mix and match effortlessly for Spring! Here’s what I created: ✨ A vest using my first indie pattern of the year (Aura Patterns on Etsy) ✨ A bias-cut slip skirt (#N6793) ✨ A cami (made from the remaining fabric of the skirt) (#B7001) ✨ My originally planned dress pants (#S9235) ✨ A pair of denim jeans (#M8408) Throughout this process, I honed my skills—perfecting invisible zippers, breezing through buttonholes, and tackling my first fly front. The @patternreview #pr2024PrintMixing contest inspired me to do something with three short lengths of bengaline.
