Here's my completed #knowme2020 dress. Turned out better than expected and looks better in real life than the photos - they don't really do it justice. Can be worn with or without the belt as there are buttons at waist. I removed the black epaulettes as it was starting to look a bit 'police-ish' 👮!! But it will forever be known as my policewoman dress now. 🤣🤣 A lot of work and some very unclear/complicated instructions, especially in the collar construction (I did manage to put part of it on back to front and had to unpick it all 🙄). Here in New Zealand we are about 6 months behind the 8-ball when it comes to new release patterns turning up in the fabric stores. When I saw this one online I fell in love with it,and knew exactly what fabric I wanted to use from my stash. So I ordered straight away, and it arrived yestetday. Fabric: 2 Alf sheets in different colourways (these can be seen in a previous post) I spent the afternoon cutting out the pattern, making sure the contrast colours were on the correct sides. Hi all. I sewed up the Know me pattern #me2020 designed by @keechiibstyle . I love her style and amazing talent. I used an acid wash denim and sewed view A. I omitted the lower gusset pockets after putting the first one on. This material didn’t have enough weight to hold the shape at all but be sure there will be another make of this dress that will include them. The wrap dress is a wonderful pattern with the details of front and lower gusset pockets and epaulets. A vest, but make it a dress! @measurefabric has this insanely delicious micro-wale corduroy that looks like the deepest blue velvet and has a touch of stretch for the most comfortable, cozy fit. I am ever in search of the perfect dress that I can wear both to the office and then to a nice evening out after work hours. I was inspired by a classic corduroy blazer that a friend of a friend was wearing the other night at dinner and I knew I needed something with a classic yet modern vibe… with a collar. For my hacks, I blew out the collar a bit (I’ll show you in my highlights) on this #m7997 and added 6” length and a 3” inch wide tie belt. I strongly considered #m8140, and I already had this cut but would have loved the pattern that just came out by @keechiibstyle #ME2020 already with the wide collar and a gorgeous a-line fit. . . . Finished my last me-made before we move! This pattern is @keechiibstyle #me2020 💗 I am obsessed with this pattern and the pockets! Another great teacher fit now that we are back in the 90s here in California. The only mod I made was lengthening the skirt 2”. I discovered this Mimi G pattern accidentally but love how creative and unique this dress could potentially become! The colour blocking of pockets/collar/panels etc are endless 🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣🟤⚪️⚫️!! So I've made a start using some leafy cotton sateen fabric that I've had sat around for a couple of years. My plan is to have a black collar, black epaulettes, black sash, then black pocket flaps and pocket gussets to help the pockets stand out (I decided fully black pockets may be overbearing). I hope it will look good but it's more a practice piece really to get used to the pattern. Decided to tackle making the pockets first, they seemed really complicated and fiddly at first but after doing one (which took a couple of hours I'll admit 🕛🕧🕐🕜🕑 🤣🤣) I'm now ok and was much quicker with the rest!
