I have selected #me2046 by @beautejadore for my pattern to sew for the #bhmpatterndesigners25 hosted by @bhmpatterndesigners @sewnaturaldane the fabric has been in my home collection for a long time and I am 90% sure I got it from @lafinchfabrics_new and it was just to beautiful to cut. Well this pattern is perfect for showing off the color gradation so it can now be cut and be turned into a dress.

May 2, 2024 me made outfit #mmmay2024 This is Know Me pattern #me2046 (previous grid post has the deets) - I loved it when I made it and I love it again every time I put it on. But I don’t put it on often because I don’t love it from the back #backrolls . I’ve tried wearing it with a sweater or a vest, but the proportions go wonky. I love the lightweight black knit it’s made of because it’s perfect for LA weather. Maybe I just should have sized up? Sometimes you just want a basic knit dress that looks nice but is comfy AF 🖤 This is @simplicity_creative_group #ME2046, but with sleeves shortened to elbow length and the side slit sewn shut. So ME2046 with the big design details removed 😅 I wasn't a fan of the extra long gathered sleeves, and while I *am* a fan of a leggy slit, I wanted this dress for cooler weather and a slit felt impractical. The pattern has a great silhouette though so I'm glad I gave it a go. I made a size 16 which is my typical size in Big 4 patterns. My current measurements are 38" bust, 32" waist, and 40" hip, and I didn't need to make any fit adjustments for this pattern! Big 4 seems to draft for broader shoulders which is perfect for meeee. No broad shoulder adjustment needed here!! The sleeve cap is also nice and tall, so I don't have nearly as many wrinkles on my sleeve as I do with the Friday Bateau Top and the Dawson Top. This pattern says to double stitch seams, which to my understanding means you use a straight stitch for the first pass then come back and zig zag, serge, or straight stitch again near the edge. This seemed like odd construction for a knit, but the fabric (a mid/heavyweight cotton spandex interlock knit from @fabricmart) has low stretch on the cross grain and I don't need the dress to stretch on the seams. I straight stitched everything but the hems and topstitching around the neckband, which I used a twin needle for instead. Overall, I'm happy to have a comfy basic in my wardrobe! I wore this to work today and it was really cozy. Bonus: swipe to see my picture taking setup because I apparently left my phone tripod in Pittsburgh 🙃

May 16, 2024 me made outfit. #mmmay2024 I’ve already worn this top once this month. #outfitrepeater BUT!! At the thoughtful suggestion and recommendation by @tonijosews , I’m trying it now with a new and different bra. It’s hard to tell because the fabric is black and the sky was overcast when I took the photos, but considerably less #backrolls 🎉. I’m reserving judgment on this bra (luckily they have a 60 day return policy - even if you wash and wear it). There are definite things I like, but a couple I’m unsure about.
