Hi, new sewing pattern. #ME2056
Here are my Fall designs for @KnowMePatterns : a hiking shirt and pants. This pattern only goes up to a 48 inch (122 cm) waist or 53 inch (135 cm ) hip. Available online at Simplicity.com and should be available in stores over the next week.
View A is a hiking shirt, with a ventilated back and armpit to help keep things cool. It has an oversized fit with drop shoulders, zero ease along the sleeve cap, and a boxy torso. I made this version in a Liberty London printed cotton, purchased from @WeAreTheFabricStore . The sleeve gusset and inner yoke are made from a polyester wicking mesh.
View B is a hiking pant with a zipper along the outseam from the thigh to below the knee with a mesh inset. The pant has a roomy thigh that tapers to a narrow hem. Made here from a midweight cotton twill. The insert is made from the same poly wicking mesh. The zip is for quickly cooling off while still keeping skin coverage. These were inspired by a friend who does prescribed fires as part of his work. His zippered pants open along the thigh inseam, which is not a great place for hot zippers!
Sew along coming soon on the Know Me Patterns YouTube channel.
