Brocade has NO stretch, and I really wanted to be able to sit down at some point 🫠 I’ve made the Persephone’s now four times, and they are my favorite pants I’ve ever made. The hype is real.

Meet Pamela, my Denim Co ord in this beautiful 7oz animal tonal! I was extremely focused when making Pamela because I don’t thrive in wovens, but she turned out wonderfully (especially without making a muslin 😩). Hi all, I've joined the #whole30fabricchallenge by @pinkmimosabyjacinta. This ensemble #S9894 is my third make, and it's from #simplicitypatterns of @simplicity_creative_group of patterns by MimiG. 22 3/4 yards - 7 1/4 yards = 15 1/4 yards Sometimes I'm not sure how I feel about a thing until the pics are taken but this bustier is super cute, and I love that this is a two piece, because now it can be worn with almost anything. A sweater or a cardigan, and it's good for fall.🍁 So yes, I'm very happy with this. However, ☝🏿 I could have gone down a cup size for a tighter fit and added pockets to my skirt. The bustier zipper had to be moved from the side to the front because I can't be fiddling, 👵🏿 probably end up with a cramp if I tried. 😆 The skirt make was fairly easy and the bustier was not bad, but it does call for underwire. ( Which I didn't include: No bras allowed), so yes, intermediate. The material feels like a lightweight linen blend, I'm thinking it's blended with a light wool, and most likely, I bought it from #fabricland. The bustier lining is scrap linen, and it's definitely from #fabricland. Super special occasion sewing! A little over a year ago, when tickets went on sale to the Eras Tour, my friend managed to luck out scoring amazing tickets. This make was inspired by Taylor’s vibrant 2016 Grammy’s outfit. I made culottes instead of a skirt for comfort and ease of getting around, and I wanted to make a strapped top to ensure everything would stay put while dancing. I actually ended up making TWO tops; I planned a bustier style top initially, but when Cashmerette dropped their Mansfield dress pattern DAYS before the concert, I fell in love with the look of the bodice and decided to try to hack it to be a crop top. I still wanted to see my bustier vision through, though, and made @mimigstyle #s9894 . The cup sizing was difficult to fit me perfectly on short notice with the Mimi G pattern, though, and ultimately the easy and perfect (straight from the pattern!) fit of the Mansfield top won out. I’ll still wear the other one, though, and look forward to perfecting the fit on it and making more, because it’s super cute! I had so much fun making this and wearing this, and got so many compliments. At one point, having dinner in a restaurant before the show, my friend told another diner that I had made my outfit, and they requested I stand up and give a spin, which resulted in everyone in our area giving me a round of applause. This is the Swiftie vibe to a tee - women celebrating other women and lifting each other up rather than competing and trying to drag each other down. And the entire city was filled with it! This was all such a dream come true. Now that the tour is over, I’m really hoping this energy of being unapologetically joyful about the things we love, whatever it may be, only carries forward.
