Next is Belle’s ball dress! I used Simplicity 8289 for the top and McCalls 7988 for the skirt. 🧵 I made a toile for the top and made a LOT of adjustments to make our 14yr old ‘Belle’ comfortable! I sewed the lace on last and made it a feature on the back keyhole and for little flutter sleeves! It was very sweet. I finished it off with vintage buttons from my stash as our lead loves all things vintage and she’s one of my daughters lovely friends. 🧵 I chopped a good 5” off the hem and had the good fortune to borrow a hoop petticoat which really made the beautiful outfit sing! One thing to consider for costuming is mic packs! I did press studs to fasten the skirt and sometimes the waist sat a little crooked due to this but all in all it was a success! We had 4minutes to transform Belle for dinner with the beast and we made it every night! #rosalindsews #beautyandthebeastjunior #s8289 #m7988
