Yes! We are fully aware of the strong resemblance to the Grizzly Bear with this fit. 🐻 But ☝🏿 in my world winter gets pretty cold and we need to emulate the Grizzlies during the cold months, although today isn't that bad, it's only 2 degrees celsius here and the sun's out so smiles all around. 😁 With a turtle neck and maybe some thick tights, I can wear @norrisdantaford @knowmepatterns #ME2023 streetwear design from fall straight through to spring without a coat. This beautiful ribbed knit from @fabricland.canada is like wearing a big warm blanket. Of course, I used some scraps from the bin, some fun fur, and some poly knit, but mostly, it's made with this yummy chocolate brown ribbed knit. If you make this, be sure to buy a non roll elastic waistband because the waistband requirement is wide, and having to straighten it all the time is not it. I tacked mine down on one side, which helped. Otherwise, the sew was nice and quick 👌🏿 mostly done on the serger. What's next is February, and that means Black History Month 🖤 and Valentines 💋 so I'd like to think of a way to incorporate both of these events into my next few makes. ✈️ #flightready in @mccallpatterncompany @brandijoan #m8447 sweatshirt, modified into a hoodie, and pants. I upcycled 2 pairs of corduroy pants, tan and blue, to make the sweatshirt. I added the hood from @norrisdantaford @knowmepatterns #me2023 and I am fully obsessed. I also got some compliments from TSA going through security, so I think it’s a win lol. 😉 The sweatpants are made from a plaid knit left over from making #me2023 as a birthday present for my nephew last year. I hope he doesn’t mind matching his auntie lol 🖤💚❤️

😆 Continuing my trend of sewing up men’s patterns for myself… is there a pattern company that sells men’s style patterns l but to fit women? Real question 😅. Pattern // @knowmepatterns @simplicity_creative_group #me2023 by @norrisdantaford ▪️ a sale at @joann_stores drew me in, but the hood is what sold me on this pattern ▪️I fall well below the size chart, but made the smallest size with a few adjustments to get a better fit ▪️shorted the sleeves and body by about 3” ▪️took away an inch in width on both sides of the body, and also narrowed the sleeves by an inch. ▪️neck opening is low on me, but an easy fix for next one I make Fabric // @iseefabric large loop french terry in the color tea

Hey friends! In this post I am sharing my #bhmpatterndesigners challenge submission for 2024. I made @knowmepatterns #ME2055 in collaboration with @sewnaturaldane . I also made my second version of @knowmepatterns #ME2023 (My favorite hoodie pattern). If you aren’t aware of the @bhmpatterndesigners challenge, let me fill you in. This is a lovely challenge that @sewnaturaldane put together to celebrate black pattern designer during Black History Month! Please see the rules for the challenge on the last slide. While I had some brain challenges while placing the pockets on my joggers (no fault of the pattern at all), I did really enjoy sewing these joggers. For this version ME2055 view B (which I’m calling my wearable muslin), I chose to use two light weight French Terry fabrics that I had in my stash. I do wish that I had made this outfit out of a heavier weight knit but I wanted to use something in my stash for my first version. These two patterns are easy to put together and the pattern instructions are fantastic. I recommend that you check them out. Today’s featured sewists are Nikki (@thesewingprincipal) and Kikki (@2craftytwinchicks) from McKinney, Texas (USA). We grew up watching our mom sew for family and friends, and our dad reupholster furniture. Our dad first taught us how to create quilt blocks from old scraps. That was his way of keeping us busy during school breaks. It wasn’t until ten years ago that we started developing a love for sewing our own clothes. We love fabric shopping and going to Joanns, where we sit at a table, go through patterns, all while discussing fabric and notions. Our time at Joanns takes us back to pattern and fabric shopping with our mom at the old Krauss Department Store on Canal Street in New Orleans. Although we are twins, we are individuals when it comes to sewing. Kikki loves to hack and add embellishments to her garments, to create a unique look; and Nikki likes to maximize her time by sewing clothes that can transition from workwear to an evening of cocktails with friends. We have been following the @SewOver50 page for awhile. We are inspired by how Sewover50 showcases the differences we share as sewists and at the same time promoting that age is just a number. This is one of the reasons that Kikki and Nikki, along with 2 like-minded sewists founded @SewrorityWear. We wanted to create an inclusive community where sewists of all ages, races, etc. could come together, through a shared bond of sewing. Sewrority Wear not only sells paraphernalia, but we also host retreats, online sewing, and various events and activities. We (Kikki and Nikki) have also been featured in @SewnMagazine and plan to offer sewing and crafting classes in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this fall. We are also launching a blog that showcases all things sewing and crafting by the end of the month...so, stay tuned. #2023 nos az úgy volt, hogy már régóta szeretek fotózni és a sok pozitív visszajelzés hatására elkészítettem ezt a külön kis insta oldalt, hogy legyen egy kis gyűjtő helye a kedvenc képeimnek. ❤️📸 Beküldtem fotóimat pályázatokra - szereztem egy II. helyet 🙏🏻✨❤️ Sokat fényképeztem - mondjuk ez alap, de akkor is 💪🏻✨📸🥰 Elkészíttettem a kedvenc képeimet kinyomtatott formàban és kimentem vele egy iskolai vásárra 😇🥰✨ - ami nagy élmény volt, rengeteg pozitív, támogató visszajelzést kaptam ❤️🙏🏻. A szembe jövő kihívásokra IGENT mondtam, így jutottam el például a Deák BILL koncertre az árokban BackStage fotókat készíteni - hatalmas élmény és szakmai kihívás volt 🥹😀🥰 - főleg amikor a király rám kacsintott 😂✨ Rendszeresen szántam időt a fotók rendezésére, szerkesztésére 🤓✨❤️ Kipróbáltam több féle fényképezőt és objektívet, hogy nagyobb rálátásom legyen arra, mikre lenne szükségem ahhoz, hogy profibb - ne csak telefonnal készült képeket - tudjak készíteni 📸📸📸 Megnyitott egy kiállítás - AZ ELSŐ SAJÁT - amin a fotóim kerültek a falra és aminek a megnyitóján beszéltem is 😅🤓😍✨📸💪🏻 És ezek a sorsfordító mozzanatok mellett csodás év volt ez a családommal 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 - nem mindig könnyed, de annál értékesebb, a waldorf sulival 🌳- ami nem csak egy iskola, a futással és a jógával - ami épen tartja az elmém és a testem… 🏃🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️❤️, a barátaimmal - akik mellettem álltak ❤️ Jártam csoda helyeken, belföldön és külföldön is… elképesztően hálás vagyok mindezért, meg azért is amit most kihagytam a felsorolásból, azért is ami rossz vagy éppen kevésbé jó volt, a nehézségekért is… több lettem 🥺😍✨ hogy jobb- e azt nem tudom, de bátrabb biztosan 💪🏻😜 #comingoutday #havastél #hó #winterme #photo #photoartist #photography
