#ME2066 is a lovely pattern with lots of potential for coordinating fabrics. Instructions are easy to follow and there's a helpful video tutorial. I used the PDF version found on the Simplicity.com website. It was made in a size 12 bust graded to a 14 waist. I would say it's semi-fitted. Not tight or loose - just the right amount of ease. It can be cinched at the waist with a belt. A key feature of this dress is the top stitching If you use contrasting threads it will be visually impressive. And those pockets! Modifications included shortening the side waist by an inch and narrowing the shoulders by an inch. Next time I will also reduce the upper bodice by an inch and lengthen the upper skirt by half an inch. Otherwise it came together beautifully. The brown fabric is a cotton/linen blend from @fabricland.canada . Behind the scenes! Here’s some photos I snapped from the time I was sewing up the denim dress for the #ME2066 sewing pattern envelope. This happened back in August 2023. The magic happens somewhere between photo 6 - 7 of this “slideshow”, after inserting the bias hem. I still remember the first time I made a circle skirt with horsehair braid - the feeling doesn’t change! The flounce for this denim dress doesn’t require horsehair braid. The weight of the denim fabric + interfacing makes them the horsehair braid 🪄✨ Editing a BTS video of how I batch my sewing for the red & pink version as we speak!
