I’m an continued attempt to use what is in my stash… While cleaning out and reorganizing my house, I came across several packages of 4 inch charm squares. Some were even unopened. These were from my past life as a quilter ;) I don’t have the time/space to make a quilt I decided I needed a basket of handmade toys. Why? Because I don’t have one! And because I can. So my first attempt at toy making will be a stuffed cat using Simplicity 2613. It’s not quite the design I want but it’s a pattern I have. I did splurge and order safety eyes/noses. We’ll see how that goes! #handmadetoys #sewntoys #stuffedcat #patchworktoy #isew #sewcute @simplicity #s2613

What do you do with 36- 4 inch squares? You make a cat 🐈⬛ This little cat is adorable! I have plenty of those squares leftover to make at least one other animal in the pattern. This is Simplicity 2613 Super easy. I pieced 4 panels of 9 squares each one afternoon. This afternoon, after the safety eyes arrived I sewed the pattern together in under 2 hours (sewing very carefully and slow) It took some time to stuff it, and looking at it now, it could probably use more stuffing. The kitty nose is wonky, I forgot to check the nose orientation before putting the back on! 😝 For a first attempt at a stuffed animal, I am thrilled with the outcome. That makes 2 projects using scrap supplies completed this weekend! #isew #sewcute #sewist #sewingproject #simplicitypatterns #s2613
