Ive had a complicated relationship with sewing the last few months. I had to take May off. I was putting too much pressure on myself to produce and perfect… when it was supposed to be fun & relaxing! Then I got back to it and each project for myself has just been… off. From not quite right, to doesnt fit, or total fail. Anyway… here are some knit projects maybe worth sharing but I’d still put into the not quite right category 😂 wrong fabric, interfacing, length, or fit 🤷🏻‍♀️ expect the blue polo. That one is perfect haha. 1 #raphpolo by @stylearc in @riversidefabrics knit. 2 #m8245 by @mccallpatterncompany in a spandex knit. This one is almost right - just a heavy fabric and something feels off with the torso fit on me. 3 #tuliatee by @sewing.masin in @riversidefabrics knit (too heavy of a knit for the flowy tee) 3 another #raphpolo but in a @lestissees knit. My interfacing on the collar is too stiff/got warped so i forever have a curl in the collar 🤷🏻‍♀️. Thanks for staying for my tedtalk 😂. #memade #sewing #homemade

My head spun at how fast this easy McCall's pattern was just whipped up #m8245 lol. My night clothes were getting a bit tattered and desperately needed to make more so I chose a jumper since it's getting cold now and It has a nice robe pattern in there. Happy Weekend ✨ I sewed up McCall’s 8245 last night with some pretty knit fabric I had in my stash. I had both the pattern and fabric for sometime and I am so glad I put this together! This is such a fun and fast make and the results are gorgeous. I absolutely love this romper. This has such a flattering cut to it and I adore the wide legs. Two pattern pieces and elastic and you are good to go. #McCalls8245 view A romper, size medium. I raised both front and back V neckline 2” - so I also shortened neckline elastic 2” on both ends (4” total shortened for each piece). No other adjustments made. Super easy sew and very comfortable to wear. Crazy fabric design, but I just plan on wearing this around the house anyway. #M8245

Needed a new robe for Christmas, really didn't want to be schleping around in my old ratty robe in front of my relatives again this year. 🤦🏿‍♀️So the Terry Towel Cotton Knit - Burgundy from @fabcyclevan I had in my stash got used up. This robe took me 3 hours to make, I lengthened it and added pockets but I completely screwed up the collar but it looks okay. So I’ve heard matching sets are a thing now and I’m low-key obsessed. However, me being an amateur seamstress - is not about to pay 45+ dollars for something I could make for just as much money 😂😂😂 Luckily tucked away in Walmart’s never attended fabric corner, there were two bolts of this fabric - both $2 for 2 yards. McCalls is apparently hip to the matching set trend as well because in their fall release included #m8245 . I used the romper and shorted it by about 3 1/2 inches. The pattern comes with a robe (which would also make a great duster) but I wanted more of a cardigan style top so I went with the new simplicity pattern #s9373. Individually each pattern came together in about 2 or so hours (which is mind-blowing 🤯) and both took less than the 2 yards of fabric the patterns called for. Secret Pajama Alert 🚨 Running out to do errands today wearing my newest version of McCalls 8245. I loved my first version so much I decided to sew them again using a sweatshirt fleece I had in my stash to wear at last week’s sewing retreat. These are the easiest and most comfortable feeling rompers. In the sweatshirt fabric they are perfect for autumn and you can certainly add a turtleneck or long sleeve top for the cooler temps. I adore the wide leg on this ❤️ A perfect addition to any wardrobe, has style and unbeatable comfort! Two pattern pieces and elastic makes this a breeze! I definitely will make this again but will add pockets! Sewing my buttons on to my Vogue 8884 coat that I worked on at the retreat and am absolutely loving it. I lost my Grandmother yesterday. I am taking the day to allow myself to rest and grieve. It is okay to say I am not strong. Making some loungewear was the perfect way to end the year and start 2022. I used #m8245 view b. I first made it from a heavy stretchy gray knit from @thewasteshed. It was so stretchy that sewing was a bit of a pain but it was worth it because it is so comfy! The second time I sewed it in a lighter striped knit (also from @thewasteshed)and used picot elastic to finish the neck and arm edges. Next time, I need to adjust the seam allowances. This is such a quick pattern and I want to make in again in a nice French terry. I definitely recommend this pattern for comfortable and cute loungewear. I know I will get a lot of wear from these.

#srtl2024 Here I am in the first of my Sew recreate the look capsule wardrobe which I’ve made and is inspired by the fabulous designer Lauren Manoogian. Lauren creates the most beautiful clothes in neutral colours using natural fibres. This is a cotton terry towelling / velour fabric from @rainbowfabrickilburn and the pattern is the Threadcount 2116 Loungewear Set, I think it’s discontinued but some are still available on eBay and it’s also a dead ringer for the #mccalls8245 thank you to Jen and Sharlene for this great challenge!
