Vogue 1956 is done. Fabric designed by @aderabrowndesign I’m very happy with how this came out and plan to make another one. I chose not to use boning on this to see how it would work out. The next one, I’ll try with rigilene. I have photos of my modified pattern pieces. At first I thought I needed a major sway back adjustment but it turns out I just didn’t have enough room in the hips when I made my muslin. That’s something I’ll keep in mind for future garments. My latest denim creation using #V1956 and #M8479. Vogue pattern is a shirt pattern and I added ease for a looser fit. I mistakenly dropped the front wrap on the McCalls pattern but it was a happy accident. More deets in my Things I Made in Decembruary YT video.

Test garments for corset shirt pattern #v1956. We tested it in medium weight cotton fabric from our stash. The form-fitting silhouette includes boning to evoke the look and feel of a traditional corset. Can be worn as a standalone top or layered with other garments to create a more complex silhouette. Close fitting tops have self faced corset waist detail with boning, collar and collar band and exposed separating zipper closure. View A has long set-in sleeves ending in button cuffs with seam opening. Sometimes a fabric just knows what it wants to be. This Liberty fabric, Strawberries and Cream, immediately made me think of this Vogue pattern.
