Finally! I have got round to posting my last make of 2019. I thought I’d just try out making the Vogue v9050, but in a scuba that’s been in my stash over a year from the Textile centre. Both pattern and fabric I have had for ages, so with an eye on using up some of the ‘sleepers’😴, I crafted this little gem. It’s a gem because although the pattern instructed for a lining and zip, I didn’t bother, and it slips over my head like a good ‘un! 😁👍 And because of this hardly took any time to sew up. It is a bit fabric greedy, so couldn’t do much else with the sleeves, which is unfortunate as I’m not that keen on the ‘tourist couture’ length of these. So if you have any good ideas, feel free to bombard me with your thoughts! 💪🤨🤔 (Also I’m so excited!!! Frocktober day 18 Normal programming has returned, just me in a dress today. Huge thanks to everyone for cheering on my kids, so proud of them for joining in! Today's fact... it is estimated that about 44% of women who inherit a BRCA1 mutation and about 17% of women who inherit a BRCA2 mutation will develop ovarian cancer by the age of 80. Day 20 of #memademay2020 Celebrating a warmer day before winter really strikes to wear my jacket started with @susankhalje in February and finally finished on the weekend. I love it, the Liberty wool silk twill weave (@wearethefabricstore ) is beautiful and luscious to wear. I learnt so much, it's far from perfect but I'll wear it with pride. Progress report on Vogue #V9050. Things are coming together despite having no time for sewing this week. Canvases are in, plaids are meticulously matched. Here’s whats next: ✅ Stitch stay tape in shoulder and center front ✅Hand sew button holes ✅Stitch pockets in place ✅Ease sleeves into armhole ✅Anchor sleeve heads and shoulder pads Then its time for the lining. I think I will hand sew the lining into this jacket for the best finish.
