The Vacation Collection... Day 3 Bowling anyone? This linen top was made from the leftover scraps of two shorts projects. I couldn't bear to see any precious linen go to waste and wanted to create something that was fun and uplifting against my usual muted palette. After I finished, I was a bit uncomfortable with the oversized fit of the top, so I decided to tuck it in and cinch it with a belt. I made my first pair of pants (leggings not counting) 🥳 And it’s the most fun pants ever 🤡 The pattern is the Vogue #v9008 👖 The fabric is another second hand find… used to be bed linen 😂 According to my measurements I made a size 22… and it turned out wayyyy to big, swipe to see 😅 without a belt the pants sit comfortably on my hips, but I prefer them to sit on my waist. So a belt it is… Next time I’ll cut a smaller size. The instructions that came with the pants are ok, but lacking. The Vacation Collection... Day 5 My first Kalle shirt! This isn't something you just throw together. It's a garment that asks for some concentration and attention to detail. The results are worth it! This pattern has so many options for customization. The hem is faced so it hangs nicely. I can see making other versions, and in a drapey fabric too. This garment was used as a swim coverup on vaca. But will get a lot of use in "real life" as a shirt. Yay! Quick make of Vogue 9008 shorts in gorgeous Irish linen from @lafinchfabrics_new . I sewed this pattern in 2020, but didn't keep the shorts, they were too baggy. I've sewn my first zip fly! I'm super pleased, because I was really nervous but once I worked it out, it all went well. This was my second zip ever, and I feel like the difference between my first and second is huge! I really love these and can tell I'll be wearing them constantly! I've been going to weekly physical therapy sessions for my knee, and found I really needed a pair of fitted shorts. I wore my Star Wars shorts to my first two appointments, and they are cute but definitely stand out. I found this fabric and pattern deep in my stash and decided to make them up before my next appointment. Mission successful! The Vacation Collection... Day 9 I didn't think I'd like this top when I began making it. This version was just a tester version to see if I liked the pattern. The fabric was something I'd had in my stash for years and wasn't precious to me. But after it was complete, I was thrilled and declared this top was "making the cut" and coming along for the ride! The shorts are pretty straight forward and are a good basic for beach wear. This was my first time making this pattern as well. The back pieces wrap around to the front to make an angled side seam. So it appears there is a pocket. But as others have reported, there is not. I also thought they were an inch too short for the cheek situation in the back. Maiden voyage of the pink Miu-Miu inspired shorts! The volume in these shorts is a new style for me, so it has taken some getting-used-to, but they have been fun to style and they are SO comfortable! I used a candy-pink polyester twill from @fabricdotcom, and Kiana Bonollo’s Wide Pleated Shorts pattern. Deuxième itération du short Vogue #V9008 avec pour seule modification l'ourlet retourné. La principale difficulté était l'élasticité du tissu dans une direction (une fin de rouleau en promotion de chez @destocktissuspontivyhennebont que je n'ai pas pu laisser passer) et malgré mes précautions, j'ai tout de même un peu de déformation au niveau de l'empiècement au dos. Mais sinon tout est nickel et j'ai hâte de profiter de ce short cet hiver 🥰 eh, mon raccord des carreaux est pas mal 😉 🇬🇧 Second version of the #voguepatterns V9008 shorts with the rolled over hem as only modification. The main difficulty with this make was my fabric which was elastic in one direction. Despite my precautions, I had a little wobble at the yoke.
