Favorite look of the year! Anyone who has been following along should have known this was coming. This is my LARP character, a fancy dragonblooded boi named Viride. This build was a ton of work, many months worth. And it’s continually changing depending on weather conditions, activities I’m planning to participate in, and more weather conditions. 🌞🥵☔️💧🥶
I started with @margos_patterns as the base for my #doublet, sleeves, shirt, and #trunkhose, but heavily modified the doublet and poufy pants from the original design. For those wondering, I did start with the women’s doublet instead of the men’s. The pouch is Butterick #B5371 and the warm hat and muff set was originally a scarf from Amazon that I turned into a muff using a tutorial from @koshka_sews
Building this look was one of the most creative challenges I’ve done in years. I’ve never done strict copying of garments even in my most “accurate” of historical costumes, but being able to use any material and in all kinds of weird ways is incredibly freeing.
That said, I don’t recommend sewing #velvet directly to vinyl. 😬
