This coat might look classic on the outside, but the lining is the real star! š I couldnāt resist this Minerva Exclusive print liningāit adds such a fun pop of color and personality to an otherwise sleek and structured coat. I used Know Me ME2103, opting for a long, dramatic length (which I later had to shorten after realizing snow and floor-length coats donāt mix! š). Lessons From My First Tailored Coat Sewing my first double-breasted coat with Know Me 2103 by @beautejadore was an unforgettable experience! This coat taught me patience, precision, and the importance of taking my time.Ā A few things I learned along the way: āļø Pattern matching was a MUST for this houndstooth printāso much time was spent aligning each piece to achieve a clean, professional look. āļø Structure matters! I added shoulder pads to give it that sharp tailored finish. āļø The little details countāthe faux flap pockets give this coat so much character! āļø Next time? I would make the longer version, add it bit more room around the hip area and convert the faux flap pockets to welt pockets. This was the first completed item on my #MakeFive2025 vision board with @rochelle.handmade.designs and I already feel like Iāve leveled up my skills!
