Every single coat I make I swear it’s the best - until I make the next one 🤞🏾. This coat is EVERYTHING I imagined it would be. I’ve been mind crafting this one since July of this year. It was initially going to be 3 different patterns until @mimigstyle and @norrisdantaford came out with @simplicity pattern #s9389 #simplicity9389 🙌🏾 and saved the day!

Well, today I took part in the @boyssewtoo catwalk, sponsored by @aurifilthread at the @theknittingandstitchingshows. Over the past couple of weeks, I have been upcycling curtain fabric into an outfit. It is a coordinating jacket and shorts. I was still sewing until late last night, trying to get it finished. Nothing like last-minute deadline inspiration to focus the mind! 🤷‍♂️ I used two different simplicity patterns @simplicitymccallsuk S9389 and S9758. Fabric were remnants from my collection and from @upstairsdownstairs_maldon Buttons and buckle were from @thecheapshoptiptree I was rather nervous, but I am so pleased I took part. I was able to meet loads of incredible guys and see an amazing range of designs on the catwalk today. It was quite an overwhelming day. It's lovely when fans of the bee stop me to share their stories. It's great to know the show means so much to so many and has acted as an inspiration, too. It was my original inspiration to sew after all! This was also an opportunity to meet up with my fellow Bees that I've not seen in person since March. I hope to be able to see those who couldn't make it today in the near future! Here's my take on a trench coat I made for my son; it has all your classic elements - wide lapels, storm flap, adjustable buckle cuffs, belt and epulets; I'm particularly fond of the hardware! The sleeves are lined and all seams bias bound (swipe to see the insides). I adored making this, it was such a satisfying sew.
