I made this super cute #s9287 out of an old favourite dress of mine (swipe to see) that I haven't worn for a couple of years now! A little too "TDC" (total design concept) but it's comfy at least. View B Simplicity top, view B Itch to Stitch "Belize" shorts. Fabric is quilting cotton. Top's "collar" was not at all what I expected. It was a color-blocked inset vs. the gathered edge, fold over collar I had expected. Sleeves were too full so I added tucks at the sleeve hems, pressed in a deep vertical pleat. I made simplicity #s9287 in this cotton from @myfavoritequiltstore this is my 1st entry for #sewaprilblouse25 run by Gabrielle @cloth_edit And Tamlyn @sewn_on_the_tyne I went back and made some adjustments to the top, if you look compare new pictures 4 and 5 to old 7 and 8 photos you will see the front and back were a bit too large so I look them both in, and changed the buttons and now I am happier with the fit.

Can you tell I'm quite happy to be home and spending time with the husband? I've been meaning to photograph this set for ages but never quite got around to it. The skirt is the #nightanddaydress yoke skirt option smooshed (such a good word!) onto the #lorettashorts waistband. And the blouse is #s9287 (previously #b6217 ) with the puff sleeves from the #scoutdress swapped in. I love that I can style these together or separately, and I'm totally obsessed with the lemon print 🍋🍋🍋 (I may already have this print on another fabric base in my stash waiting 🤫). I do seem to have been on a @ladymcelroyfabrics kick of late and this is no different, and made using the Bright Side of Life print on cotton lawn.
