Another pair of Burda 6938 shorts I made back in the summer Pattern - Burda 6938 Version - mid length with a bit on length taken off Size - 16 Fabric - stretch woven material that I got in a destash Fabric req. - just over 1m I used a stretch woven material that I got from a destash. These are a wearable toile of the Burda 6938 #b6938 I have used fabrics already in my stash which I just squeezed the pieces out of. The waistband I made from two pieces rather than cutting on the fold as I didn’t have a piece of material big enough. The patterned material is from my local fabric shop @nimblethimblesswindon and the blue cotton is from Minerva @minervadotcom and left over from another make. I made the largest size which is just the right size around the waist and hips. But I have larger than average thighs and often find trousers difficult so I measured the pattern and found that I needed an extra 11cm in each leg. I didn’t have a wide enough piece of the patterned material so I cut two 7cm strips for each leg and I’m quite pleased with the results. I am finding them too long and so will probably shorten them at least another inch, I made the knee length version. The pattern was really easy to use, but I ignored all the basting instructions and just stitched. I’ve got another pair I’ve just finished in the shorter length. You made a birthday dress? Aw. How cute. I made a BIRTHDAY CAPSULE WARDROBE, y’all! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🎉🥳🎂🎈🎊 I fell in love with this fabric from @joann_stores so I grabbed like 8 yards of it on sale, enough to make three fabulous pieces (with a remnant hanging around, maybe to make an accessory at some point). Dress # 1: The #ChemiseDress from #gertiesewsjiffydresses by @gertie18. I added puff sleeves from the #cinchitdress adding a couple inches in length. LOVE this dress. So easy to wear and so flattering. This was my first time sewing with pompom trim and it was so easy and fun! I was also relieved to see how well the trim held up once put through a regular wash and dry cycle, ensuring that I’ll be able to get more use out of these pieces in the future.
