It’s SO pretty, but it was so frustrating!
I bought the wrong size run. Technically my measurements weren’t even listed on the back. So I looked at the final measurements on the pattern pieces and it was still going to end up two inches too small. I haven’t had luck using the big pattern companies, even knowing that I’d need to do many adjustments. Everything always comes out HUGE. This was no different.
Alterations needed:
- Shortened the middle panel by 3/4 inch
- Took in under the arms by an inch and a half
- Added quarter inch elastic at the waist in the back to bring the whole thing in three inches
- removed the sleeves to take up 2 inches
- Added clear snaps to the front because the buttons don’t really come up high enough
It was my first time making fabric covered buttons are they are CUTE! Definitely worth hand sewing them on one button at a time!
Despite all the frustration I am very happy with how it turned out! And a big thank you to my mum for helping me Frankenstein the insides of it! 😅
