I wasn’t around for a month because I was taking my annual winter break wallowing in darkness and also doing a little thing called 💕falling in love💕. With Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney California Adventure, utterly besotted. What unlocked it for me was going hands up the entire time, no holding the handles even during freefall, Jesus take the wheel. I also especially enjoyed Incredicoaster, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder. Pretty sure I’ve been turned into a Disney Adult. In the bottom right picture I’m mad because I’m on Radiator Springs instead of Guardians. (Just for the photo, rest of the ride I was having the time of my life like everybody else in the car.) We took sad Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance line pictures for our own amusement after waiting 30 minutes. Later it shut down while we were still in line and we didn’t get to ride it that day. Sharing my clothing makes in my stories is usually the extent of sharing them on IG. Sharing pictures of quilts, bags, etc is so much easier than sharing clothing makes. However, I do want to share more of my finished clothing projects because when I do share, I usually get a comment like “I wish I could sew my own clothes”. I use to be that person! Making your own clothes has a steep learning curve and I totally get tossing in the seam ripper and saying forget this! I’ve had my share of those moments and I still do, it’s just happens less. 😉 I’ve only shared a fraction of the clothing I’ve made for myself on IG, but maybe by sharing a little more, I can encourage someone else to take the leap and try something new! This is one of my earliest clothing makes - we are taking pre-2020. I love this top! It was my first attempt at a collar which was a success, but I’ve learned much about collars since. This top has held up great, which is one of my number one loves about making your own clothing - handmade pieces last much longer than ready to wear pieces! I may not have a ton of “trendy” pieces, but I’ve always gravitated towards more classic pieces and that has served me well as I’ve made more and more of my own clothing. The pattern is Butterick #b6686. I know I lengthened the top, I always add from 1” to 1 1/2”, and I added the sleeve cuffs. #butterickpatterns #aquilterlearnstosewclothes #memade
