This summer's project. I finished it a little too late for prom but made it in time for my anniversary dinner. Not quite the tone of the restaurant, but I believe in never being knowingly underdressed. The pattern is a vintage vogue V1885. It's very easy to follow and has an awesome 60s look. It has a boned foundation, underdress and dress, and then the butterfly layer. A lot of hand sewing, but I loved the butterfly fabric. Under the silver butterflies is an ombre chiffon. I tried different colours but decided the Wednesday look was the best. It isn't quite heavy enough for the length. I may add pattern weights. After messing around with the foundation, I added some tiny silver chain straps to keep it up. I also pulled it in at the back to give more waist definition beneath the cape. #memade #v1885 #voguepatterns
