I finally made a jacket for myself. It's Vogue 1993 from an old wool tweed remnant and denim with pocket trim from the remaining selvedge from the tweed. I might not have finished but for the @asgnashville sewing retreat in November. Now for a few more things I can pair it with... @asguildhq

Another old friend. For me at least, this is an iconic bottle as it not only captures a particular place in a particular season, but also a certain movement, of using whole bunches, crushed or not, that arose in Burgundy and the Rhone in the late 60's, 70's and 80's, long before it became fashionable. Think Jacques Seysse, Jean-Pierre de Smet (who made this wine), Alain Graillot et al - all three were/are strong friends, all helped each other and all worked together at Domaine Dujac. There is still plenty of sweet, dark cherry fruit here but the wine is also loaded with secondary, tobacco and cedar wood notes, characters that have (I believe) evolved from the wine's early steminess (there remains a hint of this still). Finally!!!!!!! The Vogue pattern #V1993 is finally finished. The pants were sewn with a cotton Punto Milano and they were very difficult for a beginner like me, however, here they are!!!! I was going to add pockets but because of all the fitting alterations I had to do I forgot... I might add them one day though. The full 2 piece outfit is in the second picture, the jacket is done with a Boucle fabric that is auper warm so perfect for these colder months and the best part is that I still have some left over fabric, enough to make a top with cap sleeves...
