I made my #N6588 in green back in December and since my dad was looking for a new hoodie too I made him one this month! He likes bright colours so I got this rainbow polar anti-pill fleece! I shortened mine by 10cm but forgot to shorten dad's 🤦‍♀️ Still need to figure out how to inset the hood easier as 4+ layers of fleece is difficult to get through the sewing machine. Minerva are holding a #SewnWithNewLook competition this month where if you share your makes (made with New Look patterns and the hashtag#sewnwithnewlook) on their site you could win prizes. I have chosen to make my husband a 3/4 zip top from New Look 6588 with a few little modifications. My husband isn’t the most adventurous when it comes to his clothes, so having a sweatshirt with… a zip, is about as good as we are going to get at the moment! I’m pretty pleased with the sweater/pullover/jumper though and he really likes it too 😃. I’ve used a lovely, soft, quilted jersey and an Art Gallery patterned jersey for lining the collar (both from @minervadotcom). It isn’t quite what is recommended in the pattern, but I think it has worked pretty well. I’ve added a cute little label from my @kylieandthemachine advent calendar 😍too. I have shortened the top as it is pretty long even on his 6ft frame, and added cuffs rather than the hemmed sleeves. If you want all the details have a read about it on my Minerva page - link in bio. Recently made the #newlookpatterns #N6588 in a cozy winter fleece from @joann_stores I didn't know it would be so long, but I really like it!! I made an XS and I measure 26 at the waist, 36 at the hips. The pockets are a lovely add. The instructions for the collar were a bit tricky, but otherwise fun, straightforward sew! I used my @singersewingmachines_ 99 clone to sew it, and serged it on my Merrit Lock. #vintagesewingmachine #happysewing #sewingproject
