Whoa it’s been forever since I posted anything. Here’s a catch up of all the things I’ve made: 1: NewLook #N6751, too heavy for summer but came out pretty good 2: Sotak’s Kaland #weekendertote. I’ve made this pattern before but the pattern matching on this was *chef’s kiss 3: Self drafted pattern to match the style of a bag my hairdresser requested, came out fabulous 4: Simplicity #S9125, loved the pattern but made with rayon so it keeps shrinking and shrinking 😫. Lesson learned. 5: McCall’s #M6017 made for my daughter, loves her unicorns 6: Self drafted, copied the shape of our old pool bag (green on left) with a yard bought at a reuse shop. Had just enough left over to make the outside pocket. 7: My much used tote pattern for a friend, a hit as always! 8: Hacked together bodice of Simplicity #S9125 and skirt of Simplicity #L9708, love the yellow! Had some fit issues in the bodice but was mostly due to stiffness of quilting cotton. Lots more projects in the works….

Hello friends !! Today I want to share with you another dress I made using pattern #n6751.It is very simple and quick to sew dress and I really like the kimono-style sleeves.However , the pattern has two problems in my opinion. If you plan to sew this dress, pay attention to how the elastic is sewn in at the waist - I will definitely change that next time. And the second problem I noticed. The side seam is very short and you can’t lift your arms up. @newlook #n6751 @joann_stores #sewingwithknits @sewsunnytimes a big thanks to Claire England for her latest series on skill improvement. I decided to draft facings and hand sewed it down. I also hand stitched the sleeve hems to make this dress a little more special because I’m wearing it to an event later this summer. I did a slight forward shoulder adjustment and attached the band and skirt differently than the instructions. They are just suggestions, right? I made a size 14 the bodice fit very nicely but the skirt was too full for me. I took about 8” out of the skirt and I’m happy with how that looks. I also took in the waist band for a closer fit. I made a slip from some polyester something in my stash. I just used the skirt pattern to do that and attached elastic at the waist. I’m pretty happy with how it’s turned out.

First make of 2025 and I absolutely love it! This fabric from @lushfabricsaustralia ticks all my boxes: ✅ perfect colour palette ✅ large scale abstract print ✅ drapey DTY I purchased #N6751 from @spotlightstores a little while ago, and pairing the fabric and pattern has resulted in this beautiful dress that makes me feel like a Grecian goddess. I made a couple of minor adjustments to the pattern, adding an extra centimetre to the length of the bodice and folding up the sleeves a little more to better suit my body shape. New Look 6751 #N6751 Size 14/16. Poor directions for back elasticized waistband ("inset" on pattern directions - annoying wording). Clearance fabric from Joann was a bit too stretchy. Would use moderate stretch, as directed, if made again. Probably won't, unless I lose more weight.#sewover50 #newlook6751
