Made a waistcoat (aka vest) for my husband for Christmas using #simplicity #S9457 . I made a size 40, but lengthened it by 2”, moved the welt pockets and back tie down, accordingly, added a buckle to the back tie, and took in the back by about 2 inches. Next time I would add a main fabric piece to the back of the button hole area instead of making them on top of the lining fabric, as the pattern showed to do. And I used the @professorpincushion method I found on YouTube for the welt pockets (the pattern’s method did not work as well for me when I tested it). Other than that, the pattern worked well! And I’m going to make him another one per his request!
