Vintage sewing! The gray jersey is a 70s wrap dress (McCalls 8379) and the white floral cotton is a 60s pull-over dress (McCalls 8402). Both dresses were fun to sew, as the instructions were original, and had little nuances for hems, trims, and finishes, that I don't often see today. This fabric has a story, my Mom came to visit from Puerto Rico (I haven't seen her since 2019), but we got to celebrate her birthday while she was here and on her birthday she said "you should get some fabric I'll pay for it" OK not going to argue with my Mom... so I went to @stylemakerfabrics and we both loved this fabric from @atelierjupe so I got three yards thinking I had three yards to make myself a dress. Little did I know that my Mom had ulterior motives wanted a top. I was able to make her a beautiful top out of this fabric and I had about 1.5 yards left. I squeezed (and I'm not exaggerating when I said I squeezed) this dress, which is #m8402 from it. It was a quick make with French darts, plus I wanted a pattern were I could enjoy this print, its beautiful. The colors are so bright and just make you happy. Say hi to my ever loyal Alpha Dog Finn.
