First pair of fitted shorts/pants (no elastic) in #v9319 . They are a wearable toile for the pants I’ve planned. It’s the same pattern as one Liberty has put under their label. I have included pics from the Liberty advertising because they look so fab and 70s. Pattern: #vogue9319 Fabric: repurposed from an H and M tunic found in an opshop. I loved the Toile de Jouy print. #memademay2021 Day 30 Just finished this top in time to wear out for drinks and dancing. One of the things I love most is to trawl through the remnants. I like to find something that I may not normally buy, but because it’s a small amount, and cheaper than normal, it doesn’t matter if you stuff it up. This little piece of lace was in a bundle of three remnants for $30. I had no idea what to make with it but gave this Vogue pattern a go, and used a piece of fine cotton jersey to line the front and I absolutely love it. Some more pictures of my #V9319 trousers with unfinished seams. I‘m going to do that by hand once I know which shoes to wear, probably last minute 😆 Changing the zipper from the back to the side was an issue, as the trouser has side seam pockets, but I did it, not perfect though… anyway, I love that I‘m getting back to sewing after a long break and really enjoying the creative energy and all the ideas that come along 🤩 also, looking for festive clothes in stores was really depressing… if your Body doesn‘t have the usual proportions it is very difficult to find trousers. In the fitting rooms I tried even fancy brands and they wouldn‘t propperly fit my rather curvy backside 😂 let‘s be honest: I wasn‘t able to get inside them. Jumpsuits: even worse. I really love these #Vogue trousers they are so comfortable!!! I finally have space around the crotch area (I graded sizes, added length to the crotch and did a flat belly adjustment, using #TheColettePatternsPantsFittingCheatSheet 👌🏻)

After really seemingly endless thoughts about what to wear on my wedding which is by end of may - so very soon - I finally decided to sew my wedding outfit myself. Here is Part one, the trouser. It‘s a pattern by very easy Vogue #V9319. The journey of deciding on the Outfit was really interesting and I learned a lot about social pressure and how our most intimate wishes can be shaped and/or oppressed and censured by society. Anyhow, I decided to go for some aspects of classical conventions: the color white/ or rather offwhite which I will combine with a dark blue top in silk. I will update you on the progress later. Fabric is pure wool from Paris, I think a destocking fabric Form Lanvin bought at @generaldifftissus (the shop is really recommended!).

First pair of fitted pants- no elastic with #v9319 . I made them for a pants competition on Pattern Review and it was a race to the finish line with a couple of hours to spare. I could see these being made in a light wool or corduroy for winter warmth. The pattern was originally a vogue one but now Liberty has released it under their name, made some fab versions in Liberty fabrics, and charge Indie prices plus shipping. I think the pants are great for those with a tum and no bum, like me because the pants flare out from a wide yoke front and back at mid hip, giving the illusion of an hourglass ⌛️ figure. It’s pretty cool when you can add pieces to an outfit and it can change the look! I finally had the courage to cut into my vintage fabric and I didn’t do a toile! I’ve learnt I am fairly safe with Vogue patterns sizing. Do you have a vintage stash you are too scared to cut? This is Vogue pattern #V9319 without the sleeves. I didn’t like their instructions, so as usual made it my own way 😂 The front is self lined. Whenever I use a light coloured, patterned fabric I never line in the same fabric, as always requested. It dulls the fabric. Instead I used a white cotton silk voile, which is super light weight, breathable and the end result has the main fabric looking bright and crisp. I’ll definitely be making more of these, maybe a longer version too.

Fell in love with this Vogue tie-fronted top so decided to make a co-ord outfit for summer (although summer may have already been and gone, it's been 🌧☔️🌨☔️🌨 here for weeks!) I'm not normally a green clothes type person but this fabric caught my eye in a remnant bin at Abakhan stores in Preston and I couldn't resist! It's some kind of slighty shiny viscose I think. The top is intended to be worn alone and tied tightly under the bust, but as I made a longer and looser version mine definitely requires a modesty camisole top underneath! Maybe I'll just copy the actual pattern pieces next time and see what happens!
