I made a jumper with a beautiful Italian almond/grey double sided 90% virgin wool, 8% cashmere & 2% polyamide double knit. At 380gsm, it makes the perfect jumper for cooler days and a little extra material was used for the matching scarf. I also used grey binding around the collar. Daisy seems like she gave it the royal approval :-). Happy Friday all!! I hope you are looking forward to a wonderful weekend. I have a backlog of projects to post about but have had limited time with holiday preparations, remote teaching and life in general!!! Here is my first version of #v9330 view B. I was attracted to the stand up turtleneck and the cool three-piece sleeves on this one. I used the same bulky wool knit from @moodfabrics as I had some extra from the previous sweater I posted. This was a very easy sew other than trying to serge the seams on this super super bulky fabric!!! Here is what I did: —I made a size small through the shoulders and xs through the body. — I hand hemmed the sleeves and the body so the stitches wouldn’t show. — I shortened the turtleneck by 2 inches (4 inches off pattern). —I shortened the body by 4 inches to make it a bit more of a cropped style. I have already worn this sweater and received compliments from my students. The fabric is so warm and soft and perfect for this pattern. I would definitely make this one again! Finished #v9330 🤩 Nothing fancy here, just me in front of the camera so you can get an idea about fit! 😊 I made it in this oatmeal sweatshirt fleece from @girlcharlee 💫 It is so super cozy! 🥰 I made a size Large. My bust measurement is in between Large and XL. I decided to go down a size and I kinda think I could go down another next time. It is quite an oversized pattern! I love the wide turtleneck and the 3 piece sleeves! It was pretty easy to put together, no major issues! Make sure to label your pieces though, especially the side piece and arm pieces, they could get mixed up easily. This is an altered version of vogue’s #v9330 made with wool. The pattern is LARGE and LONG. This is an xxs size with shortened sleeves and waist length. The sleeves have underside panels, which I had not worked with before. This sleeve style gives the shirt a wide and chunky look, but is unnecessarily complicated. I Also made it a mock turtleneck instead of a thick chunky turtleneck. Stiff fabric was recommended m, but you could use knits. Just DOWNSIZE the pattern a lot. #sewing

I made another cowl neck sweater but this one feels a bit more springy! The #v9330 is a loose fit with a cropped sleeve which makes it feel “cooler” does that even make sense? You can also opt out of the funnel neck or wear a layer underneath for colder months. The sleeves are very interesting, they are each two pieces with a seam on the top of the sleeve. They also have two darts at the cuff. I top stitched the seams on the sleeves and the back for a more pronounced look. The sides and under-sleeve have a panel that you could colour block for a fun look! Love the structure of this sweater and can see me wearing a lot as a transition piece! Finally took some pics of a make. Love this OVERSIZED sweatshirt. Left top is inspiration. Used this easy Vogue pattern and I added 2 inches to the length, 1 inch to each of the vertical seams, omitted the darts in the sleeves, and added ribbing for cuff and hem band. The fabric if a lovely bamboo rayon blend sweatshirt with matching ribbing from @emmaonesock. Love love love this make and it is so comfy to wear.

This is my take on #v9330 (max bust 44” with lots of ease) and while it is comfy and cozy, tbh I’m just happy it’s over! . The actual pattern is fun and straightforward except for one discrepancy/typo regarding the sleeve hem allowance, which ultimately didn’t affect me since I chose to change the hem finish anyways. . The pattern is written for stable knits, but because of the ease, I used a quilted jacquard woven and sewed a size M. First I tried adding cuffs (proportions were off), then I unpicked those and tried to do a turn-up like the pattern suggested (didn’t work on account of using a woven instead of a knit) so I ended up doing a bias bound finish on the sleeves and hem, which I knew was best with this fabric and I probably should have planned for that from the start. . Other mods: I have lined the sweater in a cotton voile (I think a lining necessary with this fabric) and I cropped the length a few inches due to fabric constraints. . I know I’ll wear this quite a bit, but this has definitely been a lesson in not getting too hyped about any one fabric 😅 because I found the texture and color of this fabric so wonderful, I got obsessed with making a “perfect” garment out of it, which ultimately was more stress than it was worth. It is super cozy and goes well with my jeans, so now it’s just time to wear it :) . Day 5 | 31 - out in the woods today...and not camouflaging in the least. These are my very red Pietra pants. This is my second pair of Pietras, and for this version I took a little of the fabric out of the back and added a side zip. Made from the softest of cotton corduroys from @esthersfabrics - it may have been a little light for this use, but they are very comfortable. The top is a Vogue pattern that I have always loved with these cool cocoon sleeves - I think it would have turned out better in a more stable knit, but I do like it and wear it. This one made from lightweight fleece; I did add sleeve length (pattern has 3/4-length), and did add a vertical ribbon down the front to break the black a little! Instead it’s like she’s a danish interior designer and her least favorite American cousins came to town and dropped all of their crap on her cool minimalist furnishings. This is the Very Easy Vogue V9330 in boucle from @bohcraft on Etsy. Even at the height of the pandemic this fabric arrived in a timely manner. This pattern is easy and so comfortable once it’s finished. I’m so excited to have completed my first #minervamakers project, live on their website now. This is a hacked version of Vogue V9330 in ivory neoprene, kindly provided by @minervadotcom . I wanted to use the neoprene to make something pared back yet structural and V9330 seemed to fit the bill with its darted sleeves. What I hadn’t realised from the pattern illustration was that it included a separate side panel which extended from the hem to the wrist. I thought this would be too bulky in the neoprene so I incorporated it into the side seam, tapering to nothing at the wrist. This was my first time sewing with neoprene- it was simple to sew and achieved the structural shape I was looking for. Not sure why this Very Easy Vogue pattern doesn’t get much play, because it’s SO extra—neckline, darted under-paneled sleeves, side panels—but still easy and lots of bang for the buck. It runs very large, so I went with the XS and still ended up shortening the body by two inches and the sleeves by one inch. This is the sweater I’ve been wanting to pull out of my closet all winter, but didn’t have. A thick knit with a cozy fleece interior, oversized and boxy, comfort and style with room to move. I will say this pattern is more oversized than I anticipated, I would go down a size or more if I make it again. I also thought the sleeve cuff was much wider and less shaped than I expected from looking at the pattern images and other makes on Instagram. I might try to tweak the cuff it to get a little bit more shape out of it. I intended to make the turtleneck version, but in my presumptuousness, I didn’t cut enough fabric. The pattern calls for 35% stretch, but I can’t even begin to imagine why? Honestly, this could probably be made out of a woven. The fleece back knit I used here only has 20% stretch, I normally wouldn’t take such a gamble, but I had a feeling it would be OK! Even though this one didn’t turn out as I anticipated, I’m still happy with the final result. As it’s currently 16° outside and snowing, comfort is key! ⠀ Who doesn't love a good bathroom selfie? My camera remote is broken, but I still wanted to get some photos of my new sweater! This is Vogue 9330, which has an extremely stylized illustration of the turtleneck. In real life it's not quite that large, but it is a statement!⠀ ⠀ I used a ponte knit that is quite stiff and stable. To be honest, it's not my favorite fabric, but it worked well for this purpose! If I made this again I would use a sweatshirt fleece to make it more cozy.⠀ ⠀ I sized down a size to an extra small, but a small would have fit too. Although it's not a vintage pattern, it definitely is giving me 60s Mary Tyler Moore vibes!⠀ ⠀ I top stitched the center back seam for interest and sewed the hems by machine.
