The quickest sew there ever was, a @simplicity_creative_group 5555 using leftover fabric that’s been sitting in my stash for over a year and a half. This one size pattern technically should be four pieces but I did it with just the two front pieces and closed the back. I closed it up rather than include the waist tie pieces so I could wear it with a strapless bra. What I wore to Christmas dinner . Every Christmas I am left scrambling at the last minute, to come up with a Christmas outfit. I mean, it’s not like I don’t 365 days to get it together! 😂 Well this year, as November came to a close, I decided I wasn’t even going to think about making something to wear for Christmas. Something in my closet would have to work. Meanwhile, I had begun making these yellow linen pants that I had been wanting since summer. And before I knew it, I decided that I would wear it to Christmas dinner. I already had a top in mind that was in my closet. All was set until I was wandering around in Joanne’s and stumbled on a Simplicity pattern sale. Casually flipping through the book, I came across this Jiffy pattern. I had the perfect blue fabric at home, so it was a done deal! Thanks to @thatsewmonica and @sewyourview for turning me into this pattern, this is my 4th pants! To think I went kicking and screaming to try this pattern and now I can’t get enough of it 😂😂. The halter top was only two pattern pieces that you cut two of and it comes together in about an hour. It can be worn in about 4 ways so yup you guessed it.. I will be making more 😂. I am lucky to have made it home with the outfit as everyone wanted it 😂😂... I meant to take pics of the back but I forgot so next time I wear it, I will. . . . . Some meditative hand sewing and champagne for me this evening to finish a quick and easy make of a reprint of vintage Simplicity 5555 that I started last month...before I got distracted by new projects! I made this in a black knit and it’s a one size fits all make. I did go off-pattern by making this with a self lining - essentially making it twice, sewing the two together, turning and then hand finishing the small opening. Definitely worth doing given this is a low cut and almost backless top!
