Het was eventjes stiller juist omdat ik weer aan iets begonnen was 😁😜 en nu is het eindelijk af. Het was een hele zoektocht voor een mooie broek in een rekbare stof. 🌺 Matchy Matchy Flower Field Set 🌺 What do you get when you take 2m of glorious French terry and some scraps of matching yellow jersey? A fun, colourful and comfy matching lounge set (details of my #m8447 top on previous post). The #sewingstellajoggers by #tillyandthebuttons have been on my make list for a long time but came together MUCH more quickly than the time they languished on said list. It’s even more remarkable given just how much inspiration can be found by searching the #sewingstella hashtag. They’re popular for good reason and it won’t be the last time I make them. The Stella jogger is drafted as a mid rise pant but we all know how I feel about high rise so these received a 1” increase (next time I’ll add another inch). I’ll also size up for a more relaxed fit though it may also have something to do with less stretch in the fabric than called for. My only other modification made was to add a couple of stitching lines on the waistband. I find there’s something I prefer about the way it ensures an even distribution of the fabric around the waist. 🌺 Flower Fields Jumper 🌺 Thankfully, since moving to QLD I haven’t needed to pull out a jumper all that often. But, now that I’ve found this #mccallspatterns I’m not sure I’d be sad if I needed more winter jumpers in my wardrobe (jks, I would be devastated). Like most things I wear, I have quite particular preferences when it comes to jumpers. They need to be loose, but not absurdly so, and cropped but not too cropped. So, this is quite literally the perfect pattern for me. I made a large, and the only modifications I made were to shorten the sleeves by 4.5cm. I added in the ruffle (1.5x the length of the armscye) at the sleeve because all things need ruffles and decided to carry that contrast over to the neck and waist bands and cuffs. I’m not sure matching jersey with terry is the best idea but since this was made during my (still ongoing) fabric ban, I made do with what I had in the stash. Beyond the shape, I really enjoy the extra seam line in the sleeve. It gives it some great additional detail without adding much extra time. Sewn with @guetermann_creativ_au Maraflex thread (game changer!) and finished with my new overlocker which - and I get this *shouldn’t* be revolutionary - didn’t stretch the fabric or create any wavy seams! Cozy snow day fit ❄️ Inside after a quick but exhausting snow shoveling session, I thought I’d share my newest, coziest oversized make. This black sweatshirt is the new @brandijoan @simplicity_creative_group McCall’s 8447 (#m8447). I received this pattern from a sweet giveaway by @brittanyjjones — thank you Brittany!! I wanted an oversized sweatshirt so I made a size Large, going one up from my measurements. It’s a cropped sweatshirt with fun arm detail (hard to tell in the black). I topstitched the collar, cuffs, and bottom band with black @mettler_thread Seraflex thread which was really interesting to see with! I don’t love the zig zag look, and stretchy thread seems like a good alternative! I made this in a black sweatshirt fabric that I thrifted. And a black rib knit that I grabbed from @gemmafabrics this weekend. I acquired some more sweatshirt fabrics from @gemmafabrics too so I could play around with loungewear some more. The next time I make this top (there will be a next time!) I think I’ll take length out of the arms and add a bit of length to the torso. ✈️ #flightready in @mccallpatterncompany @brandijoan #m8447 sweatshirt, modified into a hoodie, and pants. I upcycled 2 pairs of corduroy pants, tan and blue, to make the sweatshirt. I added the hood from @norrisdantaford @knowmepatterns #me2023 and I am fully obsessed. I also got some compliments from TSA going through security, so I think it’s a win lol. 😉 The sweatpants are made from a plaid knit left over from making #me2023 as a birthday present for my nephew last year. I hope he doesn’t mind matching his auntie lol 🖤💚❤️

🎽+ 👖REVIEW: Final knit make of the #PlanPrepExecuteReview challenge and I learned that I will never turn back from inset pockets in a knit garment, (rather than side seam pockets).
