Here’s a quick update on my #sewyourdecade submission! Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been working on Butterick pattern #B6939. I’m practicing a lot #slowsewing which has been fun to approach this thoughtfully. I’ve had my eye on this pattern for a while and have talked about it on my YouTube and in stories. It’s tongue & cheek and honestly I’m just having fun. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤣If you get it, great, if you don’t that’s okay too. The instructions have been great. I made a quick detour with the bodice and used the burrito method to sew it up. Anywho, I’m moving onto view D, the skirt. The skirt pattern pieces are massive so I’m excited for the fullness in this skirt. I made the one piece romper with self-fabric covered buttons and a full gathered skirt to wear over it for evening or more modest occasions. This year's birthday outfit was created to pair with these spectacular shoes from @habbot . Although I'm posting a little late, this was ready in time for a birthday dinner last week. Fabric is from @spotlightstores and I was very excited to use my labels from @kylieandthemachine it really makes the garments feel professional. The skirt is the #rosalieskirt by @peppermintmagazine and @forgetmenotpatterns which was a total joy to make and I already want to make a second one. The top is a retro Butterick #b6939 which proved a little more difficult and required a few adjustments and I'm still not super happy with the fit so I won't recommend this pattern.

#twelvedaysofstitchmas day 10! Hardest and easiest makes. The hardest or most frustrating make was my playset B6939 by butterick it is a super cute pattern but was nothing but a pain in my ass!!! I almost gave up on it. I redid the waistband at least 7 times!! But the easiest make is the pattern I self drafted from a vintage top I already had.
