1st make of 2024! This is McCalls 8158, from 2020 🤭 I stopped buying Big 4 patterns several years back because I had SO many fitting issues that frustrated me. But I have this rayon challis I got from @fabricmart a few months back and the pattern runs horizontal, so way too short for the dress I originally intended. While I love this top and it will get a lot of use this spring, my issue with how McCalls drafts continues. Had I made the size that correlates to my bust, this would have been swimming on me. There is19 inches in view C 😱 There is simply no reason for that much ease. I looked at the finished measurements and cut four sizes smaller, which still gave me 13 inches of ease and plenty of room in my waist and hips. This is the only big 4 pattern in my goals for 2024 and I’m glad I got a cute top and can move on #rosiemccalls #m8158 #curvysewing #imakemyownclothes

Not been much sewing due to my two babies (dachshunds) being in & out of hospital for 4 months …but, here’s a small upcycle . What would you sew? 😁 Anyone else took full advantage of the huge pattern sales going on at #somethingdelightful ? I'd been eyeing some #mccallspatterns and #butterickpatterns for a while and just couldn't resist when the prices dropped this week.
